RONKONKOMA, N.Y.—Democratic Congressional Candidate Elaine DiMasi (NY-01) released the following statement after signing the ‘No Fossil Fuel Money’ pledge:

“I pledge to not take contributions from the oil, gas, and coal industries. Instead, I’ll prioritize the health of our families, climate, and democracy over fossil fuel industry profits,” said DiMasi.

This pledge forces candidates to uphold their promise to protect our environment, not take money from polluters. In fact, Representative Zeldin received more than $23,000 just this election cycle from the oil and gas industries.

In March, Elaine DiMasi spoke in opposition to offshore drilling to the U.S. Department of the Interior, not just around Long Island but the entire country. “The life in our oceans cannot survive climate change, the rising temperatures, ocean acidity, or the explosive blasts that we pound into our seabed to ‘explore’ for oil,” said DiMasi.

It’s time to stand up to Lee Zeldin and the fossil fuel industry. To learn more about the ‘No Fossil Fuel Money’ pledge, visit
